Frequently Asked Questions
Why won't my dishwasher drain completely?
Dishwashers are not meant to drain completely by design. There is supposed to be a bit of water at the end of each cycle to keep the element from overheating. However, if there is no water draining, then make sure to call your local Edwards Plumbing & Heating technician.
Can I have my drain snaked more than once?
It depends. Sometimes snaking a drain can cause more harm then good if unneeded. However, if you have a problematic drain, then preventive measures such as snaking a drain are a good idea.
Why does my faucet make a "clunk'-ing" noise when I turn it on?
Often if you hear a "clunk" or a "clank" sound in any pip it means there is a loose washer. If you attempt to fix this yourself, make sure to remove both the old washer and the screw.
Does it really matter if my faucets drips a bit?
Yes! A leaky faucet is one of the main causes of a high water bill.
My Garbage disposal won't work!
The plumbing, electrical or mechanics of a garbage disposal could be causing it not to work (or a combination of all three). Plus, a food item or other particle could be jammed in it. Careful though, if your garbage disposal is jammed, don't keep running it! It might permanently damage the disposal or harm you.
What can I put down my garbage disposal?
Almost any biodegradable food can be placed down a garbage disposal. Avoid shells, nuts, and do not glass, plastic, metal or non-food products down a garbage disposal. Remember to run cold water when grinding food products.
Why does my sink drain slow?
Drains get clogged frequently because people are often unaware of what they wash down them. Kitchen sinks often get clogged with food, cooking oil and other particles. Bathroom sinks are often filled with oily residue from shampoos and soaps. Frequently clean the drain and flush it with warm water.
